Obituary for Kayla Elizabeth Richardson

Kayla Elizabeth Richardson
Kayla Elizabeth Richardson, 28, of Herrin passed away at 9:20 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Kayla was born December 15, 1988 in Carbondale to Aaron Richardson and Tara Cohoon.

Kayla had worked at Wal-Mart in Marion and Addus Health Care before her health began to fail. Kayla had aspirations to become a Chef. She loved being in the kitchen exploring her creativity. She enjoyed music, reading and most of all being with her family. She was a hard worker with goals and dreams for her future. Her greatest passion was being a mother and an aunt. She was a member of the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin.

Survivors include her son, Michael Joseph Hartwell; mother, Tara Cohoon; father, Aaron Richardson; siblings, Michal, Lissa and Emaleigh Brock; grandmother, Velda Ervin; two nieces, Jillian and Isabelle Davis, one nephew, Kaiden Davis. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kayla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, David and LaDonna Clark and her paternal grandfather, Rev. Elvin Ervin

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin with Rev. Terry Griffith officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Blairsville Cemetery.
