Obituary for Pete Russo

Pete Russo, 90, of Four Seasons, Missouri and formerly of Herrin passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his residence.

Pete was born March 14, 1928 in Du Quoin to Tony and Lillie (Archione) Russo.
He married Josephine (Schuh) MacKie on December 26, 1973 in St. Louis.

Pete was retired having been employed by General Motors. He was also a professional artist. He served his country honorably by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of The Lady of Lake Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife Josephine; children, Rebecca (Dan) Love of St. Charles, Mo, Mark Vannatter of Louisville, KY, Robert (Marjorie) Mackie of Blenheim, New Zealand, Mae Mackie of Biloxi, MS., Susan (John) Mackie of Pittsburg, CA, and Peter (Atsuko) Mackie of Suzuka, Japan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. He is also survived by a brother, Paul (Betty) Russo of Marion and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, JoAnne Shields and Glenn Mackie; two brothers, Sam and Joey Russo.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin with Msgr. Thomas Flach officiating. Inurnment will follow in San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.
