Obituary for James Erwin "Jim" Fosse

James Erwin "Jim"  Fosse
James E. “‘Jim” Fosse, 68, of Marion went home to be with his heavenly father at 3:40 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Herrin Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born December 29, 1949 in Marion to Wayne and Pauline (Blumenstock) Fosse. He married Cissie Fosse on October 22, 1983 in Herrin.

Jim was retired having been a police officer with the City of Marion for 29 ½ years. He also worked with the Williamson County Sherriff Department for several years.

Jim was a member of Southern Illinois Worship Center in Herrin. He was an avid baseball fan and loved following the Oakland A’s and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed singing gospel music and loved to mow his lawn. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Cissie Fosse of Marion; three children, Melody Hope Fosse of Maryland Heights, MO, Michelle (Andrew) Harryman of Lake Stevens, WA, Ryan (Ashley) Fosse of Marion; four grandchildren, Carter Mecey, Rilyn Harryman, Nolan and Adelynn Fosse; three brothers, Jerry (Sherron) Fosse of Holly Lake, TX, Ray (Carol) Fosse of Diablo, CA and Wayne Dale (Debbie) Fosse of Marion. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Southern Illinois Worship Center, 124 Lou Ann Drive in Herrin with Pastor Jason McKinnies and Rev. R.G. Walls officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m til 2:00 p.m. at the Church.

Inurnment will be in Herrin City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cissie Fossie. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church the day of the service or at Pyle Funeral Home.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
