Obituary for William Fletcher Beal

William Fletcher  Beal
William F. Beal, 89 of Marion, passed away at 1:25 a.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019 at His residence.

Bill was born March 9, 1930 in Edina, Missouri to George and Ruth (Bailey) Beal.

Bill was retired having been in the trucking industry serving in management with several companies for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country honorably with two tours of duty during the Korean War.

Bill attended the University of Missouri. He was member of the Masonic Lodge #484 of Kirkwood Missouri where he served as Past Master and he was also a member of the Shriners.

Bill enjoyed swimming and meeting up with his buddies for lunch. He was an avid Mizzou Tigers, St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a blood donor for many years. He would volunteer his time driving children back and forth to the Shriners Hospital in St. Louis where he made over 400 trips. He made many of those trips using his personal vehicle.

Survivors include his life partner for 39 years, Liz Kahl of Marion; daughter, Lynne Crnkovich of Arlington, TX; two grandchildren, Katie Crnkovich and Jason Lotz; He also shared Liz’s children; grandchildren and great-grandchild, Ron (Michelle) Loyd and Tracy (Tammy) Loyd; grandchildren, Micaela Taylor, Jacob McCree and Ashley Loyd; great-grandchild, Jonah Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laurie Lotz and a sister, Marian Beal.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019 at Arnold View Baptist Church, (5115 Stonefort Road, Creal Springs, Illinois 62922) with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Marion VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and members of the Illinois National Guard Military Honors Team.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. Masonic rites will be accorded by Lake Creek Lodge #729 at 12:45 p.m.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Shelter in Marion or to City of Marion Animal Control. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church.
