Clyde  McMillan
Clyde McMillan, 96, of Herrin passed away at 8:38 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Parkway Manor in Marion with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.

Clyde was born December 22, 1922 in Cross Plains, Texas to Orville and Mattie (Baldridge) McMillan.

Clyde was retired having been employed by the United States Post Office while he lived in Oregon. He had also worked for Boeing Air Craft in Wichita, Kansas. He was also a recruiter and that led him to be able to travel all around the world. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country honorably during WWII.

Clyde is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terri (Allan) Thompson of Marion; two grandchildren, Evan (Tasha) Youngblood of Herrin and Megan (Nathan) Bennett of Gallatin, TN; four great-granchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark McMillan; three brothers, William, James and Everett McMillan; two sisters, Lucille Schultz and Clara Van Dyke.

A graveside service will be held at a later date, at Mound City National Cemetery with Allan Thompson officiating. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #178 of Villa Ridge and members of the United States Navy Military Honors Team.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home or at the cemetery the day of the service.
